i remember a dream i had once and it had to do w/ a broken ribbon and that meant that all things could be hurt in some way even if they're werewolves or vampires there are ways to hurt them emotionally and physically.

Hmm, interesting question. I've been thinking about it too. I looked up some of Steph's FAQs in Eclipse, and I think it might represent Bella's desire to end her life as a human and be a vampire. Here's what Steph said: "In both Twilight and New Moon Bella commits to becoming a vampire without once really examining the price she'll have to pay. In Eclipse Bella fully comprehends that price. Then she chooses to pay it. Every aspect of the novel resolves around this point, every back story, every relationship, every moment of action."
So, in short, the ribbon represents Bella's hold on life, and then by the end, she decides to sever it, she's only holding on (by a small string) long enough to get married.

I"m not positive what i means but i think it's either
- Her choosing between Edward and Jake or - Her choosing to become a vampire and all the things she would have to give up or - both....

Makes sense, but I still say that if she chooses Jake, she's choosing life as human. If she chooses Edward, she's choosing life as a vampire. So... it still comes down to her decision about her life.

It makes a lot of sense and I agree with it totally.

It also means that: You can see that the ribbon isn't destroyed. That means that even if Bella tried harder, she will always being connected with the humans' world.

Hmmmm interesting that the ribbon signifies her being torn between wanting to be a vampire and staying human. Well she is worried about Charlie and Renee and also about "fitting in" with the Cullens. Now that I think about it - it is kinda obvious!

Bella Really wants to be turned into a vampire. The Broken ribbon means Bella can't leave her human life forever and wants to hang on to it a bit, while still being a vampire . .
